Hair Augmentation

What is it and how does it work?

Hair augmentation is a medical technique to treat such conditions as alopecia (loss of hair on the scalp of eyebrows).

Hair augmentation involves multiple injections using a very fine needle of a prescribed medication, placed immediately beneath the surface of the skin into the problematic area(s). Just a "drop" of solution is used at each injection site.

Does it hurt?

We prepare the skin by using topical anaesthetic creams prior to treatment. We use very fine needles and a cold compress is then applied to the treated area/s to keep any discomfort to a minimum.

Are there any side effects?

Possible side-effects are small bruises which vanish in a few days, and a little swelling in the injected area which remains for about 12-36 hours.

How long does the treatment take?

The treatment takes approximately 45 minutes depending on the area/s to be treated.

How long will the effects of the treatment last?

It is recommended to have a course of 6 treatments at intervals of one month. It is recommended to have a maintenance 'top-up' treatment every 6 months after completion of your course but you will be advised on the potential outcome at your initial consultation.

What aftercare will I need?

Avoid washing the treated area for at least a day after treatment, but otherwise, you can return to normal activities.
